Is there a station in my area?
Generally, the first time you come to the site the map should zoom in around your neighborhood. However, if that doesn't work correctly or you want to look somewhere else in the world, type your location into the location bar, which is on the left hand side of the main page. Click "Go" and the map will re-center to wherever you wanted it to go.
I know of a station that is not listed on your site.
Great! Please tell us about it. We'll look into it and add your station, often within a couple of days, but sometimes a little longer if we're busy.
Please note that we only list public stations on this web site. So if the station you are writing about is only for a select group of people, we will not put it on the site. Many of the stations on the site require card key access, but the key is that any member of the public can apply for that access.
Do you have the operating hours or payment information for the stations?
Many of the stations that we list also have operating hours and payment information associated with them. Click on the station icon, and then click on the "Comments" tab. If we have the information, it will be there. If not, why don't you fill it in for us when you find out? Thanks!
Station X rocks! How can I tell others about my great experience?
The comments section of any station is the best way to share your experiences, good or bad with a station. Was the station clean, bright and sparkling, or dirty and hard to find? Do you want to give someone some clearer directions on how to find an obscure station?
Click on the station that you are talking about, then click on the "Comments" tab (see the example image for "Trillium/SoCalGas" with a comments tab). The first line in the comments tab will say "Add a comment" click on that and type away. Remember that all comments are read by a human being before being posted, so please only post useful information. Rants and inappropriate material will never see the light of day.
I see the station I want on the map, but how do I find out more information?
Every station is clickable. So, click on the icon for the station, and you'll see a window that looks like the one on the right. This window contains most of the information you will need including the station address, a phone number (if available), the price at the station, the date it was last updated, and the operational status of the station. You can also click on the price to convert it to other units and currencies, or click on the updated date to see a price history for that station.
I try to click on a station, but another station always comes up.
This often happens if the stations are too close to each other on the map. Try zooming in and seeing if you can click on the right station.
I added a price for a station, but I checked again, and it was still showing the old price. What happened?
At the moment, every single price update is reviewed by a human being who checks it for reasonability. This may mean that your price update does not go on the site for as much as a day or two. Usually it happens within a few hours.
However, if you listed an update and after a day or two it has not appeared on the page, please contact us and let us know. It may be that we thought the price change was too much, and denied the update (i.e. the price went from $2.10 to $3.98 in one update.) Please give as much information as you can about the station in the e-mail since we have over 8,000 stations in our database!
Trip planning
I am planning a trip from point A to point B, but the route the trip planner gives me is not the right one.
Although Google offers a wonderful service on their map site where you can drag the line showing the directions to change what path it takes, Google does not offer this service to others who use their maps, such as this site. For the moment, the best thing to do it to plan two trips. Go from point A to point C which is somewhere along your altered route. Then plan a trip from point B to point C. We are trying to think of ways to make this easier, so check in periodically to see what we have done.
